About Us

Mission Statement

"We at the House of Fun Nursery adopt an inclusive approach to practice.        We actively strive to enable every child to grow and develop safely within a stimulating and secure environment"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The House of Fun Nursery  is family owned and has been established since 2003. Since opening it has been our policy that our team of staff provide a warm and friendly environment for children to develop, where parents and carers can feel confident that their children are receiving the highest quality childcare.

We are registered for 184 children aged from 3 months, up to their 11th Birthday.

Opening hours are from 8am until 6pm, Monday to Friday.

We have completed the Norfolk Quality Assurance Scheme, which ensures we constantly monitor and develop our provision, to enable us to provide quality experiences for the children we care for.  It took the Nursery almost 2 years to gain this award.

We are able to offer flexible childcare, for both full and part time sessions (sessions are a minimum of 3 hours.)

Our friendly team of staff are trained to meet the needs of all the children within the nursery.

We provide a high adult to child ratio, which is essential in providing good quality nursery care.

We operate a key person system which allows each child to have a specific member of staff who will help them settle and develop with confidence within the nursery setting.

The aim of the nursery is to provide a stimulating environment with a good balance of imaginative and interesting activities.

We promote healthy eating at all times with our tasty snacks and meals. All meals are freshly cooked on the premises by the nurseries catering staff, thus enabling us to cater for every child's dietary needs.

Security and protection of all children is of paramount concern and this is reflected in our security system within and around the nursery and its garden.

We have large outdoor garden as well as large indoor play space. The Nursery operates from a large premises in the middle of Gorleston, the interior was purpose built and maximises the use of space and light in the classrooms.

We had our latest Ofsted Inspection during January 2007. as a Nursery we are delighted to announce the outcome of the report as GOOD, the report indicates the Nursery achieved Good standards of CARE and EDUCATION.

We work in accordance with relevant legislation including Disabled Persons Acts, 1958, 1986, Race Relations Act 1976, Sex Discrimination Act, 1986, and the Children's Act 1989, Disabled Commission Rights Act 1999. We respect all children and recognise their individuality. We provide opportunities for all children to develop in an environment free from prejudice and discrimination.

The Nursery is in the process of setting up a Parent Forum, we want to ensure the running of the Nursery is transparent, if you are interested in joining this Forum, please speak to the Nursery manager.
